The 1996 Grand Cherokee sport utility is available in four models - Laredo and Limited 2WD's and 4WD's. For 1996, the Grand Cherokee sports redesigned interior and exterior components. The standard 4.0L engine is also revised. Standard equipment includes dual air bags, anti-lock brakes, illuminated entry system and power windows and door locks. Other standard items include CFC-free air conditioning, removable folding rear seat and keyless remote entry system. The Limited adds automatic climate control, fog lights, power leather seats and HomeLink remote transmitter. Options for 4WD models include a 5.2L V-8 engine. Options for all models include a lift-up rear window and integrated child safety seat. An Orvis trim level is also available.
