The 1996 Civic two-door is available in five models - CX and DX Hatchback, and DX, HX and EX Coupe. New for 1996, Civic has a new body style. The HX is a new Civic lineup and highest mileage with 39/45 mpg with a 5-speed transmission. Dual air bags are standard on all models. All Civic are equipped with 5-speed transmission with 4-speed electronic control automatic (ECT) available on most models except for Civic HX Coupe. Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) is only available on HX Coupe. Air conditioning is standard on EX and available on other models. AM/FM Stereo is standard except for CX. ABS, CD Changer, fog lights, ashtray and rear spoiler are available options.
