The 1996 Mustang Cobra is available in two models - coupe and convertible. New for 1996, the Cobra is now equipped with 4.6L DOHC 8 Cylinder 305hp engine. Also a new special limited-production paint called Mystic is only available as an option. Optional equipment that was ordered on most 1995 Cobras has been made standard for 1996. This includes air conditioning, cruise control, rear defroster, remote keyless, illuminated entry and floor mats. This equipment joins other major standard equipment such as ABS, power window, power locks, power decklid release and AM/FM stereo cassette with premium sound. In addition, PEP 250A (include CD player, anti-theft, leather seats and Mach 460 AM/FM stereo cassette) is also an available option.
